Our story

Two friends. One long lease. A plan that took its time.

We started 2K Craft Co. in 2024 with a building, a half-finished bar, and a stubborn idea: that a dispensary could feel less like a checkout line and more like a place you'd want to sit down in.

01 How it started

A garage, a chest freezer, and a list of growers.

Kade and Tara met working at a coffee bar in Stillwater in 2019. By 2022 they were making infused sodas in a garage for a friend's wedding. The drinks were good. The drinks were really good. Friends asked for more. A neighbor offered to invest. The list of growers got longer.

In late 2023 the building on Hwy 36 came up. It had been a feed store, a tire shop, and most recently nothing. They signed a ten-year lease the day Minnesota's adult-use program opened applications, and spent the next nine months sanding floors, pulling drop ceilings, and getting to know every craft cultivator within three hours of Grant.

02 What we believe

Four rules we wrote on the wall.

    Carry less.

    Fourteen strains, not eighty. Nine drinks, not thirty. Everything we sell, we've tried, twice.

  2. ii

    Know the grower.

    Every flower on the wall has a name and a farm behind it. If we can't tell you who cut it, it isn't here.

  3. iii

    Build a room people stay in.

    Good chairs. Slow music. A bartender who's read at least one book this year. The lounge is the whole point.

  4. iv

    Pay everyone fairly.

    Living wages, tipped or not. We post the policy in the back so nobody has to ask.
